Ruling on Blood Flow During the Period of Purity
I am 45 years old, and I have been in the period of purity for eight days, and new blood has come down on me. What is the ruling on my prayer and fasting with the presence of this new blood?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: It is not considered a new menstrual period if there are not fifteen days between the two menstrual cycles; thus, what is seen before that is considered blood of istihada (irregular bleeding), and God knows best.
