Ruling on Blood Lasting More Than Ten Days
Her menstrual period lasts more than 10 days, and she followed the Hanafi jurisprudence that she should perform ghusl after 10 days. However, this time her period lasted 8 days with spotting, then one time there was a lot of blood. On day 11, she came to perform ghusl and found a lot of blood. Is this considered menstruation or irregular bleeding, and should she pray?
Answer
I say, and with Allah's success: The excess beyond ten days is considered irregular bleeding (istihada), even if it is a lot of blood. And Allah knows best.
