A Traveler Forgot His Water and Performed Tayammum
What is the ruling for a traveler who forgot water in his car and prayed with tayammum, then remembered it before the time for the prayer had ended?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: He does not repeat the prayer; because he performed tayammum while not finding water, so his prayer is valid, just as if he performed tayammum while having a covered well that he is unaware of. This is different from if there is a garment in his luggage, because it is customary for clothes to be carried in luggage, and because the water in the luggage is intended for drinking, not for use.
