Accidentally Transitioning from the Second to the Third Rak'ah
A worshiper stood up from the second rak'ah to the third in the Sunnah prayer before the Dhuhr prayer. Should he have sat down or completed it as a four-unit prayer and performed the prostration of forgetfulness?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: It was necessary to sit after the two rak'ahs; if he stands up for the third without sitting, he must perform the prostration of forgetfulness, and God knows best.
