I say, and with God's success: It has been reported in the hadith that it is equivalent to the slaughtering and cutting of a camel, and the camel is estimated to take about a third of an hour. It is recommended during this time to seek forgiveness for the deceased and to pray for him, as the Messenger of God (peace be upon him) used to say after the burial: "Seek forgiveness for your brother, and ask for him to be steadfast, for he is now being questioned" in Sunan Abu Dawood 3: 215, and God knows best.
