Hadith: (When the night comes from here and the day departs from here and the sun has set, then the fasting person has broken their fast)
What is the sensory sunset: It is the time when the complete redness of the sun disappears such that darkness appears in the east, and it does not refer to the actual sunset; because it can only be realized for individuals. The scholar Al-Haskafi said: "That is, if darkness is sensed in that direction, the time for breaking the fast has entered or one has become a breaker of the fast." It was narrated from Salamah (may Allah be pleased with him): "We used to pray with the Prophet (peace be upon him) the Maghrib prayer when it was hidden by the veil." In Sahih al-Bukhari 1: 205, Musnad Abu Awanah 1: 301, and Sunan Ibn Majah 1: 225. And from Abu Basrah al-Ghafari (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) led us in the 'Asr prayer at 'Al-Mukhmas', and he said: 'This prayer was presented to those before you, and they wasted it. So whoever preserves it will have his reward doubled, and there is no prayer after it until the witness rises, and the witness is the star.'" In Sahih Muslim 1: 568, Musnad al-Mustakhraj 2: 423, and Musnad Abu Awanah 1: 300. The scholar Al-Sindi said in his commentary (Hāshiyah al-Sindi 1: 259): "Until the witness rises: a metaphor for the sunset; because with its setting, the witness appears." See: Majma' al-Anhar 1: 230, and Al-Durr al-Muntaqa 2: 230.
