I say, and with God's help: It is not permissible to read the Quran from memory while in a state of major impurity (janabah); because impurity has occurred in it. However, for one who is not in a state of ablution (wudu), it is permissible, and it is a condition to be in a state of ablution to touch the Quran unless the Quran has a cover that is separate from it, in which case it is permissible due to the existence of the separator.
