Refusal to Pay Tax in Non-Muslim Countries
A young refugee in the West was told that taxes are paid to the state instead of public services, and it is like zakat for Muslims. However, the young man has not yet stabilized his situation and has debts, and the state is demanding large amounts from him. Is it permissible for him not to pay the tax?

I say, and with God's guidance: Tax is different from zakat, and if taxes are unjust and without right, it is permissible not to pay them, and God knows best.
