Ruling on bleeding that lasts more than ten days

Question
The duration of my menstruation changed after marriage from eight days to thirteen days. Should I consider it ten days or return to eight?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: If the blood exceeds ten days, it is considered invalid, and one returns to the old habit, and what exceeds it is considered istihada (irregular bleeding), and God knows best.
