Ruling on Zakat for Inherited Savings
A woman and her children inherited an amount from her husband, and her son is about to get married, but they moved from one place to another and postponed the marriage due to their need for the amount. Is there Zakat due on this amount if it reaches the Nisab?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: Zakat on wealth is obligatory if it reaches the nisab and a year has passed, even if one intends to marry or for other reasons, and God knows best.
