It is disliked to fidget during prayer; for Yahya ibn Abi Kathir, may Allah be pleased with him, said that the Prophet, peace be upon him, said: "Indeed, Allah dislikes for you fidgeting in prayer, indecency during fasting, and laughing at graves. Indeed, Allah forbids you from idle talk and wasting money." This is found in Musnad al-Shihab 2: 155, and it was weakened by Al-Suyuti, but it is supported by what has been reported regarding the prohibition of fidgeting with pebbles.
