Tayammum for One Who Finds His Debtor by Water
Is it permissible for someone who finds his debtor, from whom he borrowed, by the water to perform tayammum for prayer if he is in a state of ritual impurity and cannot find water elsewhere?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: If there is a creditor who is imprisoning him, meaning that the creditor is at the water and the debtor fears imprisonment, it is permissible for him to perform tayammum in this case. However, he should repeat the prayer once the obstacle is removed. Refer to: رد المحتار 1: 106, and شرح الوقاية p. 113 from الذخيرة البرهانية q. 7/a, and God knows best.
