Question
What is the ruling for someone who performed tayammum for prayer and wiped their hands before their face?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: It suffices for him to perform tayammum; because there is no requirement for order for the validity of tayammum, but it is recommended: like ablution; for its pillar consists of two strikes: one strike for the face, and one strike for the arms up to the elbows, and it can be achieved without order.
From Jabir , he said : "Tayammum consists of two strikes: one for the face, and one for the arms up to the elbows," in Al-Mustadrak 1: 287, and it was authenticated, and in Sunan Al-Daraqutni 1: 180, and in Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 1: 146. Refer to: Sharh Al-Wiqayah p. 106, and Al-Durr Al-Mukhtar 1: 158, and God knows best.
