The Destruction of Fifteen Camels out of Forty

Question
What is the ruling if fifteen out of forty camels perish?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: It is obligatory for him to give a young female camel (Bint Makhaad); because the loss is first allocated to the exemption, and if the loss does not exceed the exemption, then the obligation remains as it is. If the loss exceeds the exemption, the loss is allocated to the next threshold that follows the exemption. For example, if fifteen out of forty camels perish, the four are allocated to the exemption, then eleven are allocated to the threshold that follows the exemption, which is between twenty-five and thirty-six, until a young female camel becomes obligatory. Refer to: Sharh al-Wiqayah by Ibn Malik, Q54/A-B, and Radd al-Muhtar 2: 21, and God knows best.
