Question
My husband swore an oath of divorce that I would not tie my hair with a tie for 20 years, and thank God I have adhered to the oath, but now my head is hurting from the bun. He said that the oath was not with the intention of divorce; nevertheless, I have adhered to the oath. What should I do now?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: The oath of divorce is binding and divorce occurs when it is realized. If the intention is to realize the divorce absolutely at any time it is established, then it occurs. However, if the intention is to prevent you for a specific period of time and that time has ended, then it does not occur. And God knows best.
