The One Who Performed Tayammum and Then Broke His Wudu

Question
What is the ruling for a person who performed tayammum for janabah due to the lack of water, and then broke his wudu?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: It should be noted that if water is found, he must perform ablution only and there is no need for a bath; because the dry ablution (tayammum) was performed for the bath, then it was invalidated by an event (hadath), so ablution is required. If he does not find water, he performs dry ablution for the purpose of lifting the event (hadath). See: Al-Talimat Al-Mardiya, p. 38, and Sharh Al-Waqaya, p. 110, and God knows best.
