Answer
I say, and with God's success: The birds of prey: such as the falcon, the shaheen, and the kite; their remnants are disliked for the sake of purity, and the reason for the dislike is that they mix with carrion and impurities, resembling the domesticated chicken. Even if one is certain that there is no impurity on their beak, their remnants are still disliked. We did not declare the remnants of birds of prey to be impure due to the prohibition of their meat, by analogy with the predators of livestock; because their purity has been established by preference. They drink with their beaks, which are pure bones, while the predators of livestock drink with their tongues, which are wet with their saliva, and saliva is generated from flesh and is impure. See: Maraqi al-Falah 32, al-Sayah 1: 465, and Radd al-Muhtar 1: 149, and God knows best.
