The Ruling of a Fasting Person Who Became Unintending to Fast and Ate During the Day Intentionally Thinking His Fast Was Invalid
What is the ruling of a fasting person who became unintending to fast and ate during the day intentionally thinking that his fast is invalid without having the intention the night before?
Answer
He must make up the fast without expiation; due to the doubt about the validity of his fast according to Al-Shafi'i, may God have mercy on him, as expiation is not required in the presence of doubt.
