Question
After dividing the inheritance among the brothers and sisters, one of the brothers wanted to waive a piece of land from his share for his female siblings; because his financial situation is good, and he does not need this land. Is this waiver permissible according to Sharia?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: This is what is called in Sharia a 'takharruj,' and it is permissible. This action from him is rewarded for assisting his sisters with wealth that he owns from the inheritance, and God knows best.
