Question
I am a Shafi'i in most rulings, but I am not biased towards my school of thought, and I take rulings from any other school if there is an easier ruling; because religion is ease, what is your opinion?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: If I were a Shafi'i, I would not have said this, and I would have understood the meaning of the school of thought, that adherence to it is obligatory, and that abandoning it is frivolity and play, and an entry point for the devil. If you believe that your school is difficult to apply, you should switch to another school where you can live Islam in an easy and accessible way. The rulings of the Hanafis are before you, organized and very accessible; all you have to do is adhere to them. As for choosing from here and there, it is an entry point for the devil. As Al-Isfarayini said: Its beginning is sophistry and its end is heresy, and God knows best.
