The Ruling on Paying Zakat in Kind Instead of Cash
Is it permissible to pay Zakat on wealth in the form of food items instead of cash?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: The one who gives zakat has the choice to give what he sees fit to the poor, whether it be cash, clothing, food, or other things, and God knows best.
