The Ruling on the Funeral Prayer for a Deceased Person When Unable to Attend the Funeral

Question
Is it permissible to perform the funeral prayer for a deceased person when one is unable to attend the funeral prayer?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: The prayer for the deceased is fulfilled by the prayer of some, and its obligation is lifted, and there is no need for the prayer for the absent; as it is not permissible according to our doctrine, and God knows best.
