The Ruling on the Use of Zakat Funds by the Agent
Is it permissible for the agent of zakat funds to take from it to pay off his debt, knowing that he is financially well-off, but due to the debt, he is in a tight situation?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: It is not permissible to use zakat funds for other purposes; they should be given to the poor. One cannot use them to pay off debts, and God knows best.
