The Ruling on Zakat for Debt Owed to the Creditor
I am a merchant, and I sell on credit and cash, and I have debts owed to me by people. If these debts, when collected, reach the nisab of wealth, should I pay zakat on them?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: Zakat on debt is required after it is received, and God knows best.
