The Vow of I'tikaf and Then He Died
What is the ruling for someone who obligated himself to perform I'tikaf and then died before fulfilling it?
Answer
I say, and with Allah's success: If he bequeathed, he should feed a poor person for each day; this is because I'tikaf is a branch of fasting, and what is required in fasting is also required in I'tikaf, and Allah knows best.
