Question
If someone walks in the grass and the surface of his shoes gets wet, is it sufficient for wiping?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: It is sufficient for wiping if he wore the socks while in a state of purity; because the intention is not a condition for the validity of wiping over them, rather the condition is that water reaches the surface of the front of the foot, to the extent of the length and width of three fingers or more, and this has been achieved. See: Al-Muhit, p. 341, and God knows best.
