Ruling on Giving Zakat to Parents
Is it permissible for a daughter to give her zakat to her mother if she is in need?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: It is not permissible to give Zakat al-Mal to parents or children; rather, their expenses must be covered from each other's wealth, and God knows best.
